This summit is jointly hosted by the China Association for the Promotion of Ethnic Trade and the Malaysian Halal Industry Promotion Council (HDC). Leaders from relevant departments of the National Civil Affairs Commission, as well as high-ranking officials from the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Islamic Religious Affairs, the Halal Industry Promotion Agency, and the Islamic Economic Development Fund, attended the summit event. More than 500 senior executives of well-known domestic and international Muslim enterprises and some ambassadors and media representatives of Muslim countries along the "the Belt and Road" attended the summit.
During the summit, experts from both China and Malaysia delivered keynote speeches and extensively discussed topics such as establishing comprehensive halal certification services, halal consulting, halal training, halal enterprise investment, halal tourism, halal logistics, and halal certification.
It is reported that this summit event is one of the series of national comprehensive assistance programs for ethnic regions led by the China Association for the Promotion of Ethnic Trade, supported by the Central United Front Work Department, the National Civil Affairs Commission, the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Through the construction of the "the Belt and Road", China will discuss, build and share the achievements of new human civilization with the people of countries along the line. In the process of building the "the Belt and Road", in addition to the active participation of the government and enterprises, non-governmental organizations also play an important role in it. As a national level association in the field of national economy and trade, the China Association for the Promotion of National Trade, with the natural affinity brought by the public welfare, non-profit and voluntary nature of social organizations, has a unique advantage in implementing the important deployment of "connectivity" in the "the Belt and Road" strategic plan to facilitate communication and exchange with social groups with different interests and ideas of countries along the route. This time, the association has officially signed the "China Malaysia Halal Certification Service Strategic Cooperation Agreement" with the Malaysian Ministry of Islamic Religious Affairs and the Halal Industry Promotion Agency (HDC), which will kick off the intensive expansion of Halal enterprises and products in China. The signing of this cooperation agreement is also the first consensus reached between Malaysia's official halal certification agency and a national social organization in China on strategic cooperation in the halal field.
It is reported that the certification standards for halal food and supplies formulated by Malaysia's HDC have been widely recognized by Muslims around the world. The General Guidelines for the Production, Preparation, Processing, and Storage of Halal Food and the General Guidelines for Animal Slaughtering and Halal Food Preparation and Processing formulated by HDC have globally recognized authority, and the HALAL recognition mark issued by HDC is widely recognized worldwide. This cooperation between China and Malaysia marks the first time that Malaysia has provided Halal certification services, consulting, training, and joint cooperation with Chinese social organizations to promote high-quality Halal products from China to the international market. This has profound significance for regulating and promoting the sustainable development of halal food and related products in China.
